John James Cook b: 1895, the eldest son of John and Elizabeth Cook -
He was John & Haidee's great-uncle.
John James worked for the Great Western Railway at Paddington after
leaving school, but enlisted into the army to fight for 'King and Country' at
the start of the Great 1914 - 18 War He was killed the day after his 21st
birthday, along with the many others at Passchendahl in Belgium. Like others his
memory is commemorated on the Scroll of Honour inside the memorial on Paddington Station's
No.1 Platform and his name is among the thousands inscribed on the Commonwealth War Graves Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.
