Welcome to Lal's Web Pages which are devoted to those things that interest me and dedicated to the memory of of my gorgeous wife - Amy, have a look, and revisit every now and then if you find any of it interesting. We will try to update these pages when possible but certain parts, due to their content may not vary for long periods.
Our 'local' area is in the east end of London, and we hope that those with connections in the area, past and present, will find the historic and current information about our 'manor' interesting. The pictures above and info below give a short introduction, some other pages on this site go into more detail. |

I live in Newham, a busy, crowded borough located in the east-end of London, not too far from West Ham United's football stadium - the Boleyn Ground at Upton Park, and within sight of the spot mentioned most weekday mornings on London and South-East England's TV and LBC (local radio) travel reports - "The Canning Town Flyover on the A13 has a tailback westbound for X miles to.....". Lovely climate, lots of ozone and extremely environmentally aggressive. 'Features' on our horizon include, (clearly within sight, but on the other (south) bank of the Thames - in Greenwich) the Millennium Dome which took shape during 1999 and on 'this side' of the Thames, the Canary Wharf tower on the Isle of Dogs, in Tower Hamlets. My family consists of myself, my son, daughter, her husband, a granddaughter and Pennie - our dog. My beloved wife - Amy - sadly passed away on New Years Day 2006 after working in Rokeby School for many years, our son works in Westminster, our daughter in Green Park. Pennie works as a constant front door alarm, intruder deterrent and an (over) enthusiastic 'welcomer' of visitors. These pages will be updated fairly regularly, as time and input permits.
